“This is a metaphor of my curse, the impossibility of understanding human feelings”.
“Questa è una metafora della mia maledizione, l’impossibilità di comprendere i sentimenti umani”.

20155792_10213513538383128_4801394783316116625_n

Pietro Campagnoli has got the Asperger Syndrome, a form of autism that gave him a high I.Q. but bad relationship skills. At High School he always had problems in understanding the thoughts of his classmates and how to relate with them. With his sculptures he creates casts with blankets, wet with gypsum, placing them on living bodies and waiting for them to solidify. In these casts he tries to reproduce the shape of the human being, like a photograph of the bodies. His works never have definite faces, because it is impossible for him to understand people’s emotions, due to his syndrome. They are always empty, because the internal body has evolved and disappeared, and the “envelope” remains, like a chrysalis.
Pietro’s work is born by the attempt to describe metaphorically his past. The most violent experiences make us the most resilient individuals His artworks remind him that the storm can be fought and defeat, if an unwavering willpower supports your mind against the lashes of sensitive experiences.

Avantgarde Art Market

What is the avant-garde art market?

Let’s not get confused with the historical avant-garde of the early twentieth century. This has nothing to do with Futurism, Cubism, Dadaism: certainly Picasso and Matisse no longer represent the avant-garde revolution, but the “classic ” contemporary (the so-called “blue chips“).

Avant-garde today in the art market means artworks that are experimental, radical, or unorthodox sometimes difficult to sell in the normal circuits. Avant-garde mostly includes installations of large dimensions; this often involve the use of taxidermy or organic elements (when not whole carcasses of animals, as in the famous case of the Damien Hirst’s shark) under formaldehyde or under resin.

Installations often include multimedia elements, producing an encroachment of languages between visual and performing arts, between sound and video. They are complex works, which inhabit a transversal territory between disciplines sometimes in stark overlap, in an area of interconnection that blurs each stylistic “purity”.

The avant-garde art market constitutes a specific segment of the art business, formed by emerging and mid-career artists, who already had numerous exhibitions and who already started to draw the attention of the press and critics, in the process of moving from the primary to the secondary market in the auction circuits. It is a fluid and high-impact market luring the most innovative and experienced collectors who are attracted by a much higher profit – although fluctuating – than that guaranteed by the blue chips.

Bansri is an Indian painter living and working in Mumbai. She thinks of herself as “a storyteller of the world about us”, raising the relevant questions about life, soul, and awareness. Art – like meditation – is a means to dive into oneself. “My art is like a mantra given by my master – love, live, laugh, give!”.

Screenshot (136)

She found her artistic vocation in 2001 when her native village in Gujrat was hit by an earthquake reaching a maximum felt intensity of X on the Mercalli intensity scale. The earthquake killed around 20,000 people, injured another 167,000, and destroyed nearly 400,000 homes. Amongst the ruin of the disaster, art stood for Bansri like the only hope to help herself and her community. “That’s how I started a loving caring tango” with painting, along with an operating role as an activist in her own community. Sharing and social awareness have since been the deepest impact in her life and her artistic path.

001

Her inner push to help soon became involved in many humanitarian projects. Bansri works as an art facilitator in Shivkul Commune: an institution in the foothills of the Himalayas in Uttaranchal India, now having joint efforts to build up a school with a principal base for arts and culture. Also along with the American painter ROMANHO, she is co-founder of “NHO“: a global campaign against child abuse in the poorest countries of India.

Her technical process finds her more inclined to linen canvases and oils, but she may also pick up pen and ink, waters and charcoal as fine ingredients for what she calls “my art curry”. It is definitely a unique style of melting borders between techniques in a strong and personal manner. “When I paint I try to bring into my oils what I love in waters, and the texture and quality of charcoal. It’s not conscious but it happens that way […] My art develops the best when I know where not to interfere.”
It’s a process near to a sort of automatic writing. “When something keeps hammering, again and again, I do write on it.” Bansri does not identify with her work, but rather offers herself as a medium to reveal hidden meanings that go beyond her ordinary state of consciousness, dwelling in a middle-earth between human and divine: “my works often reveal wisdom to me more when I stare at them in between.”

Marko Guglielmi ReImmortal is a performer and a visual artist deeply involved in sound research during the last thirty years. He is the author of many projects for theatre and contemporary dance, for exhibitions and avantgarde performances.

In the last decade Marko focuses on performative and visual arts, creating sculptures and installations marked by the confluence of all media and by a strong experimental attitude. He has now a leading role in the Italian avantgarde scene.

ComPUSter is the new artistic work of Marko Guglielmi – ReImmortal. It’s a set of six works going separately or together.

The language is between conceptual and “arte povera”, mixed with video and performing art. The integration of mechanical and organic materials (such as mice or oxen brains under resin) together with the use of new media expand the concept of ready-made to new and unexplored horizons.

His distinctive patented technique leaves the canvas three-dimensional with depth and definition. By incorporating textiles into cylindrical calques with latex and acrylic paint, on canvases as massive as five by six feet and weighing as much as sixty pounds, vibrant color explodes in three-dimensional patterns and shapes.

Embedded with mystical imagery and spiritual symbols, his paintings reflect his philosophical immersion at the University of Theology in Transylvania, his native land. “I can see that I do the relation all the time between theology and paintings… Art is the big window of the soul.”
